Trojans Take On Flowery Branch Friday

Lassiter's football team is flying high after a regional championship and a fourth-place finish in the Select Invitational 7-on-7 tournament in Hoover, AL.

It's almost time for the Lassiter High School varsity football team to take the field.

The regular-season opener in the Corky Kell Classic at the Georgia Dome is nine days away.

The Trojans will take the field at home against perennial state powerhouse Flowery Branch for a preseason game Friday at 7:30 p.m. Coming off of a 9-1 season and a second-round playoff appearance, Flowery Branch is expected to be among the elite in AAAA football this year.

"The two teams come into the game with something to prove as the Trojans defeated the Falcons during the summer 7-vs.-7 schedule—twice," said Art O'Neill, Lassiter's assistant principal and athletic director.
