Late Fumble Trips Up Kell in Opener

Grayson wins a defensive struggle, 7-0, with a late fourth-quarter touchdown.

2011 season-opening opponent was the same as last year, the Grayson Rams, inΒ a game to open the Corky Kell Classic at the Georgia Dome. Kell won an exciting game last year, but the ending was different when the two teams took another shot at each other Saturday.

The defenses took control of the game, preventing either team's offenses from sustaining any deep drives. After three quarters, the game was still a scoreless tie.

But in the fourth quarter, Kell mishandled a punt inside its own 20-yard line, and the Rams recovered the ball. Grayson didn't let the opportunity go to waste. The only touchdown of the game was scored by Grayson's Robert Nkemdiche - one of the nation's top recruiting prospects - to lead Grayson to a 7-0 win over the Longhorns.
