Sprayberry High School senior Nichole Corbett placed in the top ten at the Poetry Out Loud Semi-Final Competition at Alpharetta High School on March 3.
Corbett recited two poems, “Mrs. Kessler” by Edgar Lee Masters and “A Satirical Elegy on the Death of a Late Famous General” by Jonathan Swift.
She competed against students from 21 public and private high schools.

The PTSA Sprayberry Art Show will be held March 20, 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. in the Media Center. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
The Homeless Pets Club is making baskets of supplies to be donated to area shelters and clinics. If you have old towels or rags, paper towels, old leashes, collars, pet toys, pet beds and unopened containers of food please drop them off in the school front office.
Sprayberry Cadets attended the Valentine’s Dance at Winnwood Retirement Community in Marietta, serving as “dance escorts” for the elderly members in the home. It's an annual event for the Sprayberry unit and a lot of fun for both the cadets and retired folks.
Mr. McCain, Mr. Gresham and Ms. Axford of the English Department had a guest speaker from Amnesty International as part of a study of "To Kill a Mockingbird." The goal was to show present-day connections between the 1930s trial of Tom Robinson and current cases.
