Lassiter Spoils Wheeler's Homecoming

The Wildcats had hope at halftime trailing only 14-7, but had no answer for the Trojans' offensive power in the third quarter.

After Kahlem Looney slipped through the Trojans' defense for a 36-yard touchdown in the second quarter, Lassiter's fragile lead stood at 14-7.

But the Trojans dampened Wheeler's homecoming celebrations in the second half, scoring two touchdowns early in the third quarter to pull away for a 35-7 victory in a Region 5-AAAAA game.

Lassiter quarterback Eddie Printz threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns, including two scores to Charlie Hegedus, who had 140 receiving yards. 

A rough schedule for the Wildcats (3-5, 1-3) doesn't get any easier next week, when they'll serve as Walton's homecoming opposition. Lassiter (6-1, 2-1), which kept pace with Walton, has its homecoming game next week against Marietta.

The bright spot on the night for Wheeler: Senior Netalia Anderson was crowned homecoming queen after a lovely presentation of the homecoming court.
