Kincaid Foundation Provides New Science Teacher

The less than two-year-old Kincaid Foundation created the science lab and the teaching position.

The Kincaid Foundation, established in 2010, used creative fundraising and
community support to raise enough money in its first year to establish a science
lab in the school. Bridget Nastasi was hired as Kincaid Elementary School's newest teacher. She will teach in the lab, part-time.

"Mrs. Nastasi will provide hands-on, curriculum-based experiments for students
in every grade. This will further enhance what the students are learning from their classroom teachers,” said Kincaid Principal Cheryl Mauldin.

Nastasi began her position at Kincaid on Jan. 23. She will work with 3rd-5th grade classes twice per month and Kindergarten-2nd grade classes once a month.

Nastasi has a Master of Arts in Teaching. Before moving to Georgia,
she taught high school biology and general science. Recently, she has been a
substitute science teacher at Murdock Elementary School and an instructor for
High Touch High Tech. Natasi and her family live in Northeast Cobb. Her three
children (triplets, age 12) attend .

About Kincaid Foundation

The Kincaid Elementary Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that
raises funds to benefit students at Kincaid Elementary School. The Foundation was established in 2010 by a group of concerned parents, teachers, and administrators hoping to offset an extreme education budget shortfall at the county level. The shortfall would have resulted in cuts that impacted every student at Kincaid. The Foundation focuses on curriculum, technology, and facilities enhancements. In just two short years, the Foundation has already made a tremendous impact at Kincaid. To learn more, visit kincaidfoundation.org.
