Kell Students Selected for the UGA High School Music Festival

Ten young musicians from the Kell High School marching band applied and were selected for the University of Georgia High School Music Festival.

Ten young musicians from the Kell High School marching band will participate in the University of Georgia High School Music Festival (known as β€˜JanFest’), the 2nd largest honor band event in the state.

The group departed for Athens mid-day on Thursday and will spend Friday practicing and performing with their peers from throughout the Southeast.

JanFest provides musical enrichment for high school musicians. In addition to performing in the honor band, the group will listen to concerts by UGA ensembles, attend masterclasses by UGA instrumental faculty and participate in clinics by guest artists.
