Kell Robotics, Cobb EMC to Hold LEGO® Building Competition for Fifth, Sixth Graders

The Kell High School Robotics Team and Cobb EMC are teaming up to hold the Kell Robotics LEGO® Building Competition on Friday, May 20 at 6:30 p.m. Fifth and sixth grade students are welcome to register for the event, which is limited to 100 participants and will take place in the school’s cafeteria. There is a $40 registration fee.

Each student will receive a basic LEGO® set at the beginning of the competition. The first three students to accurately complete it will compete in a final round to win the LEGO® STAR WARS Death Star set. The fourth, fifth and sixth place students will compete for the Clone Turbo Tank. All LEGO® sets used by students during the course of the competition will belong to them at the conclusion of the event and other prizes will be distributed as well.

Cobb EMC has supported the Kell Robotics Team since 2007 as part of an effort to encourage student interest in science. Proceeds from the LEGO® event will benefit the Kell Robotics Team and Cobb EMC’s Washington Youth Tour, an annual competition in which students compete for a weeklong educational and leadership experience in Washington, D.C.
