made a fundraising slam dunk in February on behalf of the American Heart Society, and was officially recognized as the top fundraiser earlier this month.
The school raised over $4,000 as part of the "Hoops for Heart" program, which was coordinated by Daniell's health and physical education teachers. According to Principal David Nelson's blog, the goal for the fundraiser was $1,000, but the school quadrupled that amount.
"Daniell was the top fundraising Middle School for Hoops For Heart last year!," reported the school's PTSA webpage. "Way to go, students, parents, staff, and community in supporting the American Heart Association by raising over $4000!"
The money Daniell students raised will help the American Heart Society educate people on living healthier lifestyles and allow scientists to continue to make breakthroughs in medicine and treatment of heart disease.
