Cobb School Bus Stop Arm Initiative

Take a closer look at the School Bus Stop Law, the penalties for violating it, statistics on drivers illegally passing school buses and how the CrossingGuard school bus stop arm safety solutions work.

Β Cobb Police Department staff is conducting Operation Stop Arm and warns all drivers to respect school buses.

The Law

All traffic in both directions must stop when school buses stop for passengers, except when there is a divided highway of four lanes or more with a median separation. In that case, only traffic following the bus must stop.
