Chatt Tech Focuses on Jobs

Building a strong workforce for communities in Georgia is a priority of Chattahoochee Tech, says Ron Newcomb, the school's new leader.

, the new president of , shared his vision for the school in an on-camera interview with Patch Tuesday morning.

Newcomb was . Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Ron Jackson made the announcement after his choice was approved by the state board.

"It's a great feeling, and I'm very humbled to have the opportunity to serve such a wonderful institution," Newcomb said.

Newcomb , when former president Sanford Chandler . Since July 1, 2009, Newcomb served the college as provost and executive vice president. Prior to the merger of Chattahoochee Technical College with North Metro Technical College and Appalachian Technical College, he served as acting president of NMTC and the vice president of academic affairs and institutional advancement.
