Campus Police Drug Dog Visits Schools

In an effort to provide a drug-free and safe campus, Cobb County schools and police conduct routine drug searches.

The Cobb County Campus Police Drug Dog was at Wednesday, Sept. 30 as part of Lassiter's dedication to a drug-free campus.

“Campo” and his handler, Sgt. Mike Rolfe, regularly visit all Cobb County high schools. Once in the building, classrooms are randomly selected and students are asked to stand in the hall with their teacher while the dog sniffs the book-bags, jackets, and purses left behind. The dog is trained to "alert" to any item that smells of drugs or drug residue.

Routine checks are also done on cars in the parking lot.
