Shallowford Sidewalk Funding on Agenda

The Cobb Board of Commissioners is expected to vote on safety improvements near two Northeast Cobb schools.

A proposal to construct news sidewalks and make other safety improvements near Nicholson Elementary School and McCleskey Middle School is on the Cobb Board of Commissioners agenda Tuesday.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the 2nd floor board room of the BOC building, 100 Cherokee Street, Marietta.

The Cobb Department of Transportation is recommending that the commissioners approve the low bid of $728,189 from Ohmshiv Construction, LLC, of Lawrenceville.

The project, which will be paid for with 2011 Cobb SPLOST funding, calls for the building of 3,200 feet of sidewalks and drainage work along Shallowford Road, between Tanbark Place and Blackwell Road.
