Northeast Cobb Road Work Update

The following information was released on Friday by District 3 Cobb Commissioner JoAnn Birrell: 

Shiloh Road at Shallowford Road Construction
The contractor is not planning to work this weekend, Sept. 7-8.

• Shiloh/Shallowford Road from Wade Green Road to Canton Road –Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. with one lane open while the contractor installs storm drainage crossings, and utilities relocating services.

• New Chastain Road over Noonday Creek – Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13. Contractor will continue work on the new bridge and the roadway approaches. EXPECT DELAYS

• Tanbark Place to Blackwell Road - Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13. Contractor will continue water line, storm drainage installation, and grading for sidewalk.

• Shallowford Road to Rocky Mountain Road - Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13. Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open at all times. Project is substantially complete. Contractor will be working on punchlist items and utility relocations.

Road closure - Summer Drive
Summer Drive between Sunshine Court and Summer Lane will be closed for utility work through Sept. 13. The street will be closed for pipe repair. Road Resurfacing**
Asphalt paving operations - which include lane closures though one lane will remain open at all times - are **scheduled next week, (Saturday 9/7 andMonday 9/9 through Friday 9/13), on the following road: EXPECT DELAYS

• Bells Ferry Road from Cobb Pkwy to I-575 Bridge

Canton Road Bridge construction
Canton Road between Sawyer Road and the ramp to Cobb Parkway is now closed and is scheduled to reopen at the beginning of October.

The closure is to replace the Canton Road bridge and also the rail road bridge over U.S.41 / SR 3. This project will also realign Industrial Park Drive and Elizabeth Street to make intersection improvements.
