No Weekend Road Work in Northeast Cobb

The Jamerson/Wigley project will pick back up Monday, Commissioner JoAnn Birrell advises.

No need to worry about road construction this weekend as you race around for or take the tour.

The contractor working on the Jamerson Road/Wigley Road project is taking the weekend off, Northeast Cobb JoAnn Birrell of District 3 advises in her weekly email newsletter.

That doesn't mean the cones will be gone or the surface smooth, but at least you won't have any lane cloures or other delays to deal with.

Here's what to expect from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, Birrell says:

Canton Road to Trickum Road

Occasional lane closures while the contractor does final striping and places road signs. One lane will remain open at all times.

Trickum Road to Jims Road

Periodic lane closures during asphalt paving. One lane will remain open at all times. Expect delays.

Jims Road to Sandy Plains Road

Periodic lane closures for grading, placing concrete and paving the asphalt. One lane will remain open at all times.
