Cobb 'Wireside Chat' for TSPLOST

County officials will field phone calls Wednesday about the upcoming Atlanta regional transportation referendum.

Cobb County residents are invited to join local officials and transportation experts by phone on June 6 to learn about the upcoming Regional Transportation Referendum on the ballot July 31.

Inspired by President Roosevelt’s “Fireside Chat” during World War II in which he detailed the progress of the war while citizens followed along at home using a world map, Cobb officials will field calls on June 6 at 7:30 p.m. in what is called a Wireside Chat.

They will discuss and answer questions about the projects on the list while participants follow along using a regional map.

Residents are asked to register in advance to receive maps and other materials they can refer to during the call. The call will last about an hour. All questions will be answered, either live or as a follow-up e-mail or phone call.

There will be 12 chats in the region, two per evening for six nights. Residents are invited to register for as many of the chats as they like. To do so, visit www.wiresidechats.com, or call 404-463-3227. These evening phone conversations are organized by jurisdiction and are free of charge.
