Voter Registration Deadline Approaching

Less than two weeks remain to become eligible to vote in the November election.

Election Day is less than six weeks away and the deadline to register to vote in is Oct. 9.

If you’re unsure if you're registered, visit the Georgia Secretary of State website.

Also check with the Cobb Elections site for more information about voting precincts and local elections details.

In 2008, six million Americans didn't vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn't know how to register.

The attached PDF files include information about voting if you've changed your address, as well as a Cobb sample ballot for the Nov. 6 general election.

Another PDF file details the dates, times and locations for advanced voting in Cobb, which starts on Oct. 15 and ends on Nov. 2.

Thanks East Cobb Patch. I've talked to people who did not know their district had been changed with a new polling location. One person said that they did not need to go the the Secretary of states web site since they had gotten an updated registration post card and they were in the same district as before. The district number hadn't changed but the district had with new elected representatives and a new polling place. Haven't voted lately? Your name may have been removed from the voting list. Could your name have been removed in error? Don't wait till election day to find out that you can't vote or that you are in the wrong polling place.
