Sprayberry Grad Dies at KSU

Tyler Davis, who graduated from Sprayberry High School in 2009, died Thursday on the Kennesaw State campus.

Tyler Davis of Northeast Cobb, who attends Kennesaw State University, died Thursday, John Bankhead, a spokesman for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The GBI is investigating the death because it occurred on state property, a spokeswoman for the Cobb County Medical Examiner's Office told the AJC.

The 911 call that alerted authorities was placed from 1000 Chastain Rd shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday, Lt. Dan Dupree with the ο»Ώtold the AJC.ο»Ώ Davis was transported to , where he was pronounced dead, the report states.

The GBI conducted an autopsy Friday on Davis, but the results have not yet been released, Bankhead told the AJC.

Davis died of an allergic reaction, according to a note posted on the Sprayberry High School soccer website.

Davis, a 2009 Sprayberry High School graduate, worked part-time as a clerk at QuikTrip and studied health and exercise science at KSU, according to his Facebook page.

A memorial service for Davis is planned for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church in East Cobb.
