Storm-Related Fire in Cobb

No one was injured in the incident in a neighborhood off Bells Ferry Road.

Stormy weather that swept through metro Atlanta overnight is to blame for a small house fire in Northeast Cobb.

About 12:03 a.m. Monday, lightning caused a fire at a home in the 160 block of Junction Court, said Denell Boyd, Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman.

The fire was confined to the roof and there was minimal damage. "Homeowner was able to stay in residence," Boyd wrote in an email to Patch.
