Robbers Target Northeast Cobb McDonald's

Cobb County police are searching for two men who robbed McDonald's employees as they were opening the restaurant Friday morning.

No one was injured Friday when two masked men robbed McDonald's employees about 5 a.m. as they arrived for work at the restaurant at 2782 Sandy Plains Road, near the Post Oak Tritt Road intersection.

According to Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce, two men wearing masks and armed with handguns forced employees into the back area of the restaurant and took personal items from them. The two robbers then ordered the store manager to open the safe. They took an undisclosed amount of cash from it and drove off in a gold 2005 Ford Focus taken from an employee.

The Ford Focus was recovered a short time later within a few miles of the crime scene.
