Punch Thrown After Northeast Cobb Youth Basketball Game

The alleged incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday outside of All Tournament Players Park in Northeast Cobb.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Mableton man who allegedly hit a sports official in the head after a weekend youth basketball game.

The incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday outside of All Tournament Players Park in Northeast Cobb. The park was the site of the Hoops 2 Dunk Cancer Classic, which featured teams from across metro Atlanta, according to All Tournament's website.

After Clifford Riddick officiated one of the games, Gary Jerome Lee of Mableton allegedly waited outside for him, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

"As (the) victim was walking to his car," authorities wrote in the warrant, "(the) accused did run up and strike (the) victim in the head with his fist."

Lee is wanted on a misdemeanor simple battery charge.
