Authorities on Monday made an arrest in connection with The suspect could be the Lollipop Bandit responsible for the at 2048 Macland Crossing Circle south of Marietta and the May robbery of the branch at 5010 Floyd Rd. in South Cobb, according to WSB Radio.
Devin Johnson of Powder Springs, 28, faces one count of robbery after being apprehended at a friend’s house in Roswell about 10:30 a.m., according to Detective Donald Roberts of the .
Roberts said that while authorities could not get into the details of what led to Johnson’s arrest, he said officials had recovered a portion of the money taken in the Saturday incident. The amount taken in the robbery, he added, was “not substantial.”
indicating that he had a gun, then demanded and received cash—all with the lollipop in his mouth.
The Marietta robbery came exactly one week after a robbed the branch at 5010 Floyd Rd. in South Cobb.
Roberts said Saturday’s robbery saw a lone perpetrator walk into the bank about 12:20 p.m. and hand the teller a note demanding money.
“He never said a word to her. He took the money and ran out the door and jumped into a getaway car,” Roberts said.
Authorities believe Johnson was working alone in the robbery, Roberts said, and no other suspects are being sought at this time.
