One Home Invasion Suspect Arrested, One Still at Large

One man has been arrested and one is still at large after Friday's Douglas County home invasion.

One man is in custody and one is still at large, after Friday morning's home invasion where two men, impersonating police officers, restrained and pistol whipped a man while stealing two guns and two laptop computers and leading police on a high-speed chase.

Lt. Bruce Ferguson of the Douglas County Sheriff's Major Case Unit said that two black males entered an apartment at Stewart Mill Landing, announcing they were police officers. They restrained and beat the husband, while not harming the wife.

Emanual Beague, 26, remains in a Douglas County jail after being arrested Friday. He is charged with kidnapping and armed robbery, according to arrest records. The police recovered the stolen AK-47 and AR-15, as well as two laptops.

Ferguson said police are still following up leads in a search for a second black male, about 6 feet two or three inches tall.

Deputy Ryan Cadwell discovered the suspects' car on I-20 shortly after the robbery. The suspects then led the police on a high-speed chase that ended in Cobb County, near Mableton, in the area of South Gordon Rd.

Hope they get the other suspect off the streets ASAP. Home invasions are increasing rapidly. These thugs know that there is less of a chance getting caught burglarizing a home then robbing businesses. So stay safe, be vigilant, install deadbolts and keep alarm activated. If you don't have an alarm system try the United States Security Company Directory USSCD for great affordable home security options.
