Leonard Leroy Church, 66, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. and is currently being held in the Cobb County jail without bond.
Church was first elected mayor of Kennesaw in 1999, and was voted to the city council last November before taking the oath of office in January of this year.
According to the City of Kennesaw website, Church, a Sprayberry High School graduate, opened Church Dental Prosthetics in 1987 and had worked within the dental field for four-and-a-half decades. His bio lists his occupation as a real estate agent with Clear Summit Realty.
He and his wife share six children and nine grandchildren. Anyone with information about the
