Four-Vehicle Wreck Leaves Man in Critical Condition
Texas Department of Public Safety officials have identified Alan Thornton, 61, of the Marietta area, as among those injured in a four-vehicle wreck Saturday evening near Kilgore.
Texas Department of Public Safety officials said Ivana French, 21, of Longview, tried to pass a vehicle Saturday evening and hit a Crown Victoria and a Nissan Altima. Marietta resident Alan Thornton was a passenger in the Crown Victoria driven by Betty Garrett, 75, of Longview.
Officials said Thornton was listed in critical condition at Good Shepherd Medical Center with internal injuries; French was listed in critical condition at Trinity Mother Francis in Tyler with lacerations and broken bones; Garrett was listed in critical condition at Good Shepherd with internal injuries and lacerations; and Colton Dingmore, of Macon, Ga., was listed in serious condition with internal injuries and lacerations. J.W. Garrett, 78, of Longview was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a Good Shepherd Medical Center representative Wednesday, Thornton was released from the hospital.
