Officer Injured in East Cobb Chase

An East Cobb resident was shot during a possible home invasion in Fox Hills; 3 suspects are in custody.

Cobb Police are investigating a shooting at a home in the Fox Hills neighborhood Wednesday morning that led to a pursuit down Lower Roswell Road and ended at the Eastgate Shopping Center.

Cobb Police Spokesman Officer Mike Bowman issued a statement around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday saying that the unidentified victim was taken to a hospital with "non-life-threatening injuries" and that the three suspects who led police on the chase have been arrested.

The identities of the victim and the suspects have not yet been released.

Bowman said Cobb 911 dispatchers received numerous calls late this morning after the shooting, which occurred on Lamplighter Lane, off Huntsman Way, which is accessible via Shadowlawn Road.

He said officers saw a car speeding from the scene and proceeded to follow it westbound on Lower Roswell Road.

The silver Dodge sedan carrying the suspects was forced to stop at the intersection of Lower Roswell and the South Marietta Parkway, Bowman said, adding that the suspects then fled the vehicle on foot and into the parking lot at Eastgate Shopping Center.

Bowman said a Cobb officer fell and was injured during the pursuit but all three suspects were apprehended at the scene.

"We still don't know what transpired" at the Fox Hills residence, Bowman said, in response to questions about a possible home invasion.

Cobb police are continuing the investigation.
