Don't Be a Car Break-In Victim
The latest Cobb Police Precinct 4 PENS report also rounds up crime trends in Northeast Cobb.
Unlocked vehicles make the easiest prey for car break-ins, and theSeptember Cobb Police PENS (Police Email Notification System) report from Precinct 4 includes information on how to prevent becoming a victim:
"Lock your vehicle doors and take your valuables with you."
While that may seem like common-sense advice, car break-ins in East Cobb quite often involve vehicles that are not locked, and that have items visible to would-be thieves.
In fact, according to the report, a majority of late August "entering auto" incidents involved unlocked vehicles, primarily in apartments on Roswell Road and the Delk-Powers Ferry area.
The report added that in early September there have been "an isolated number of entering autos" on Childers Road, near Shallowford Road. . . Open garage doors along with unlocked vehicles resulted in the offenders entering garages to go into the vehicles and at least one residence was burglarized."
