Cobb Man Wanted for Killing Wife

Cobb Police say John Kristofak is at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

An East Cobb woman died Saturday after apparently being killed by her husband, and Cobb Police are searching for him.

Cobb Police Spokesman Officer Michael Bowman said Donna Nations Kristofak, 48, died after being taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

Murder and aggravated assault warrants have been issued for John Stephen Kristofak, 59, whom police say should be considered armed and dangerous.

The suspect was last seen driving a brown Chevrolet Equinox with Georgia tag BUV 2635, according to police.

Bowman said a 911 call was dispatched shortly before noon Saturday to a residence at 3960 Tall Pine Drive, located off Pine Road in the Walton High School area. When police and emergency crews arrived, they found Donna Kristofak unresponsive with serious injuries.

Bowman did not describe the injuries or the manner in which the victim was attacked.

According to arrest records, John Kristofak was charged in March with aggravated stalking.

Police are asking that anyone who sees the suspect to call 911 and to contact Cobb Police at 770-499-3945 with information about the case.
