On July 20, 1969, one of the most astounding achievements of the human race was realized when men walked on the Moon.
This moment had been the dream of mankind for thousands of years, and was witnessed by millions of people around the world. The attached video is the way legendary newsman Walter Cronkite saw it on that historic day.
It's been 43 years since this accomplishment, and there have been occassional calls to return to the Moon, but nothing has come of it as of yet. Plans are being implemented that would return men to the Moon and Mars in the next generation, but these directives may change at a moment's notice.
