Swimming is well known for being a low impact sport. It is excellent for rehabilitation after injury, increasing fitness and is said to increase longevity.
"A recent study shows that swimming helps you live longer. In a study of more than 40,000 men ages 20 to 90, swimmers were 50 percent less likely to die during the 32 year study period than were walkers or runners," according to The University of South Carolina study led by Dr. Steven Blair.
Mountain View Aquatics Center offers daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly passes to use their facilities. Discounted rates are offered to Cobb residents as well as students and seniors. Individual and family passes are available.
Enjoy swimming year round with their heated indoor pools. Lap swim is available Mon - Fri 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Sat 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Sun 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Besides free swim, they also offer Red Cross Training, life guard training, swim teams and swim lessons for ages 6 months and up.
