The clean-up process of 3805 Robinson Road, Marietta, future home of Good Mews, began when volunteers arrived at 8AM Saturday August 27. "We are so excited, we just had to get to work right away, and show our new neighbors that we want to make this a place the community can be real proud of", said Robbin Yeager Good Mews Shelter Manager. Robbin said that having their own shelter has long been a dream of Good Mews, Georgia’s first cage-free, no-kill cat shelter. About 25 volunteers showed up armed with rakes, shovels, weed whackers, chain saws, lawn mowers, and even a back hoe to clean up the exterior of the Robinson Road property, which has been vacant for years.
Good Mews is currently located at Olde Towne Shopping Center on Johnson Ferry Road, where they rent space to house approximately 100 rescued felines. They will continue to operate at the Olde Town location until the new shelter is ready, which will be many months down the road. For more information about Good Mews, go to www.goodmews.org.
