Mother's Day Gift Idea

A donation to help rescue animals makes a great Mother's Day gift.

Don't know what to buy your mom this Mother's Day? How about making a donation in her honor toward our next transport of Cobb dogs to MARS in Minnesota, leaving on May 18? Better than flowers or candy! We need to raise $1,450 to cover the transport costs.

Your donation is tax-deductible as well! Go to their link that is reserved for us; no donation is too small: http://www.midwestanimalrescue.org/info/display?PageID=11158.

For those of you not familiar with our transport program, read about it here: .

So far we have sent well over 100 of our Cobb County cats and dogs to this wonderful rescue group! We are always in desperate need of foster homes prior to transport to help with their transition from the shelter; email Janice at quietzsch@aol.com if you can help. You will be fostering for the rescue group, not the shelter.

Sunday, 8 or 9 of our dogs will be guests of the Cherokee County Humane Society at the in Kennesaw from 11 to 4. Please come visit and see if one of these terrific dogs would be perfect for you. We are also always in need of drivers to and from PetSmart. Email Janice at quietzsch@aol.com

Also, mark your calendars for a couple of events coming up at the shelter. Our spring Adopt-A-Thon will be Saturday, May 19, from 10 to 4. Read more about it here: http://animalcontrol.cobbcountyga.gov/. It's a lot of fun, plus at the past events we have found homes for over 60 cats and dogs, but we want to beat that this time.

The first annual Art, Barks and Purrs will be held on the front lawn of the shelter on June 23; come shopping for terrific handcrafted items, all with a pet theme.  https://www.facebook.com/events/384091898299523/
