Snow Mountain, a Winter Wonderland Close to Home

Visit Stone Mountain and have fun playing in the snow now through mid-February 2013.

Have you visited Stone Mountain's Snow Mountain yet?

This winter wonderland is just a short drive from Metro Atlanta and even closer to the Mountain Park area.Β

Snow Mountain offers guests of all ages a variety of activities that involve that white, cold, fluffy stuff we wait all year to play in. Man made snow and lots of it awaits visitors at the park. Snow Mountain remains open through the month of January and even a few weeks into February, closing on Feb. 18, 2013.

Here are several of the activities you may choose to enjoy when visiting the mountain:

Avalanche Alley: Family tube ride for guests at least 36" tall, max of 5 riders per tube. This is Atlanta's only 400-foot tube ride. Children under 16 years of age require adult supervision to ride. This activity is wheelchair accessible.

Little Angels: This special area of the attraction is designed for children ages three and under. Small snow hills allow little tubers to try out SnoBoggons.

SnowZone: Stop in at this winder wonderland featuring Fort Snow, Snowman Valley, Igloo City and a Snowball Shooting Gallery.

Tube Runners: No experience necessary to take a tube flying down the Memorial Lawn.

Snofire Point: Roast S'mores at the bonfire located at Snofire Point.

Multiple packages are available for those wishing to visit Snow Mountain. The Snow Mountain Pass, which gets you access to a two hour tubing session and an all day pass to snow play areas, will cost you $27 per person plus tax. Reservations are available online and highly recommended prior to your visit.

I don't know how cold man-made snow is but it sounds chilly to me, so if you plan on visiting, wear some warm duds and hold on to your tube!
