Northeast Cobb Road Work Update: Sept. 3-7

Although the roads should be relatively clear Labor Day, we will have to go back to work on Tuesday.

The following information on road work in Northeast Cobb County comes from the office of District 3 Commissioner JoAnn Birrell:

Construction Update Week of Sept. 3-7

Canton Road to Trickum Road – Tuesday, Sept. 4 through Friday, Sept. 7
This section of construction is substantially complete. The contractor will continue adding the finishing touches which will include fine grading and shoulder grassing.

Trickum Road to Jims Road – Tuesday, Sept. 4 through Friday, Sept. 7
No lane closures expected between Trickum Road and Jims Road. The contractor will be fine grading and grassing shoulders.

Jims Road to Sandy Plains Road – Tuesday, Sept. 4 through Friday, Sept. 7
Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sandy Plains Road. One lane will remain open at all times for your commute. The contractor will be placing asphalt pavement in this area. EXPECT DELAYS

Mark Avenue Bridge Replacement Construction Update

Mark Avenue Bridge spanning a tributary of Noonday Creek re-opened to traffic today. The contractor will be final grading and grassing next week.

Road Resurfacing
Asphalt paving operations, which will include lane closures with one lane remaining open at all times are **scheduled next week, Tuesday, Sept. 4 to Friday, Sept. 7, on the following roads:

· Bishop Lake Road from Johnson Ferry Road to Roswell Road (SR 120)
