The following information on road work within Northeast Cobb County is provided by the Office of District 3 Commissioner JoAnn Birrell:
Canton Road to Trickum Road – Monday, Aug. 20 through Friday, Aug. 24
This section of construction is substantially complete. The contractor will continue adding the finishing touches which will include fine grading and shoulder grassing.
Trickum Road to Jims Road – Monday, Aug. 20 through Friday, Aug. 24
Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Trickum Road and Jims Road with one lane remaining open for your commute. The contractor will be fine grading, grassing shoulders, and placing final lane striping.
Jims Road to Sandy Plains Road – Monday, Aug. 20 through Friday, Aug. 24
Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sandy Plains Road. One lane will remain open at all times for your commute. The contractor will be placing concrete sidewalks, curb, and grading. Utility companies are relocating services which should not affect your service.
Mark Avenue Bridge Replacement Construction Update
Mark Avenue REMAINS CLOSED TO TRAFFIC AT THE BRIDGE spanning a tributary of Noonday Creek. The contractor will be backfilling the new culvert, installing storm drainage, and grading.
Asphalt paving operations, which will include lane closures with one lane remaining open at all times are **scheduled next week (Monday, 8/20 – Friday, 8/24) on the following roads:
· Bishop Lake Road from Johnson Ferry Rd to Roswell Rd (SR 120)
