State fire investigators arrived at a burned out home in Rockdale County early Wednesday to begin looking into an overnight blaze that left four young children dead.

The fire happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday at a duplex on Pinedale Circle, off Irwin Bridge Road in Conyers. For more read the AJC.

Buckhead Church Pastor to Deliver Benediction at Obama Inauguration 

The pastor of a local church will deliver the benediction at President Barack Obama's inauguration this year.

Rev. Louie Giglio's Passion City Church, which meets at 515 Garson Drive in Buckhead, has hosted an event for the last few years that's drawn about 20,000 young people to the Georgia Dome in its first year and 60,000 just last week at this year's event. Read more on Buckhead Patch.

Bill Would Allow School Administrators in Georgia to Carry Guns 

As states and communities across the country try to think of ways to prevent another shooting like Sandy Hook in Newtown, CT, a local lawmaker has introduced legislation that would allow school administrators to carry a gun.

Introduced by State Rep. Paul Battles, R-Cartersville, the proposed amendment to firearms statutes would allow boards of education the option of arming and training administrators for each school in the system. Read more on Cartersville Patch.

Thirsty thieves smash stolen vehicle through Midtown liquor store 

Mac’s Beer and Wine in Midtown was victimized early Wednesday morning when thieves utilized a stolen vehicle to conduct a destructive smash-and-grab.

According Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones, at around 4:50 a.m., thieves smashed a blue Dodge Durango through the front of the store located at 21 Peachtree Place in the heart of Midtown. Read more on Midtown Patch.
