3 Dead, Possible Murder-Suicide in Sandy Springs 

Three people were found dead inside a home at 52 Brandon Ridge Drive near Brandon Mill and Abernathy Roads, just before 4 p.m., Wednesday.

Sandy Springs Police say it may be a murder-suicide.

The victims are Edith Renner, age 89 of Brandon Ridge; daughter Suzanne Renner, 49, who lived at the same address, and son Charles Renner, 45, of Thousands Oaks Place in Kennesaw. Read more on Sandy Springs Patch.

Smyrna, Mableton Men Indicted for Child Exploitation

Two Cobb County men were indicted by a federal grand jury for child pornography charges stemming from their ordering and receiving videos containing child pornography from a foreign company, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. One of the offenders was a school bus driver, and the other one was a college instructor.

Jerry Michael Lanier, 51, of Smyrna, is charged with one count of receiving child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography. Lanier was working as a music instructor at the University of West Georgia. Read more on Smyrna Patch.

Marietta Man Pleads Guilty to Filing False Income Taxes from Prison

Arnold Tobias Gervais, 34, of Marietta, pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to charges arising out of a scheme to defraud the IRS out of more than $3.4 million in federal income tax refunds while he was in state custody, according to a press release from United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates, Northern District of Georgia.

“Those who cheat the IRS take money away from everyone who pays his or her fair share of taxes," Yates said in the release. "The United States Attorney’s Office and the IRS are on the lookout for tax cheats and will aggressively pursue those individuals who try to beat the system.” Read more on Marietta Patch.

Fire Breaks Out in Peachtree Corners Wednesday Evening

Dreamland BBQ, the popular restaurant located on the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Peachtree Corners Circle caught fire Wednesday evening around 5:30 p.m.

The fire appears to have caused extensive damage. Gwinnett firefighters were called around 5:20 p.m. and had the fire under control shortly after 6 p.m. said Lt. Colin Rhoden, spokesman for the county fire department. Read more on Peachtree Corners Patch.
