Freeze Warning Through Thursday Morning

The wind advisory may be over, but bone-chilling temperatures will remain overnight tonight.

A warm sunny weekend is on the horizon, but it's going to feel like winter for just a while longer.

A freeze warning is in effect for most of north and central Georgia from midnight tonight through 9 a.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service is forecasting that the wind will still be a factor, coming from the northwest between 15 mph to 25 mph, and possible gusts of 35 mph that could topple over weak and drough-stressed trees.

The freezing temperatures also threaten to damage outdoor plants.

Tonight's low is expected around 30, while sunny skies will return on Thursday with highs in the high 50s.

Thursday night will be clear but cold, with lows around 32, and on Friday the sun will be back with highs in the mid 50s.

Weekend temperatures are expected as high as the the mid 60s on both Saturday and Sunday, and lows will dip into the 40s both nights.

Rain is anticipated for the start of next week.
