AMC Theaters Ban Facemasks, Prop Guns

The ban on face-concealing masks and toy weapons is in response to the Colorado massacre during "The Dark Knight Rises" on Friday.

In light of the shooting spree in a Colorado movie theater during the premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises," the large movie chain AMC Theaters has issued a ban on certain costumes and props on their property.

Previous media reports regarding this action said that the company had completely banned costumes from their theaters. AMC Theaters has recently released a statement clarifying what items they will no longer permit to be worn to their theaters.

"We will not admit guests with face-concealing masks and we will not allow fake weapons in the buildings," said an official announcement on the AMC Theaters Facebook page. "We want all our guests to feel comfortable at our theatres and we will be closely monitoring.
