Volunteers wanted for Hospice Care - Veterans greatly needed

Volunteers needed to help with families and their loved one in hospice care. Veterans especially needed.

Heritage Hospice, Inc. is in need of volunteers who are able to provide various tasks, comfort and emotional support to our patients & families. Many family
members are the 24/7 caregivers and need to take a short rest, run errands and
attend to their own needs.

You will be expected to keep a weekly schedule of visits and phone calls to the
patient and their families. The goal is for you to develop a relationship so
they feel supported and loved.

We are especially in need of veterans. Other opportunities are in assisting with
activities in retirement and nursing homes. Small home repairs, light
housekeeping, music and pet therapy and running errands.

A background check, TB tests and the ability to document visits and meet critical
deadlines is a must. A personal commitment to a minimum of 10-12 hours per
month is required to be accepted into the program.
