Smucker's Peanut Butter Recall

The J.M. Smucker Company announced a limited voluntary recall of. Smucker's ® Natural Peanut Butter Chunky due to possible salmonella contamination.

According to The J.M. Smucker Company, consumers would have purchased the product between Nov. 8 and 17, 2011. The UPC number, located on the jar's label between the bar code, is 5150001701. Production codes are 1307004 and 1308004.

Approximately 3,000 jars of peanut butter are apparently covered by those codes.

The recalled peanut butter was distributed to 24 states. 

Anyone who purchased Smucker’s Natural Peanut Butter Chunky are urged to discard the product immediately and call the company at 1-888-550-9555 for a replacement coupon. The company may require proof of purchase. Consumers with questions can contact the company to speak to a customer service representative at 1-888-550-9555 between Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
