Reform Group Supports Cobb EMC Board Candidates

The reform group Take Back Cobb EMC announces their support for the Nov. 12 slate of Cobb EMC board candidates that recently received endorsement from the Cobb EMC Owners Association.

Four seats on the Cobb EMC board, representing EMC Service Areas 1, 6, 7 and 10 are on the ballot for the Nov. 12 election to be held at located at 570 Piedmont Road in Northeast Cobb.

Take Back Cobb EMC encourages members to vote for the Cobb EMC Owners Association's (CEOA) vetted candidates: Edward Crowell, Area 1; David Tennant, Area 6; Charles Malcolm Swanson, Area 7; Cheryl Grubbs Meadows, Area 10.

The four candidates all support the critical reform issues of member representation, principles of open democracy, transparency in operations, and the need for a forensic audit of the EMC financials. Take Back Cobb EMC has fought for all of these issues over the years and urges all Cobb EMC members to vote.

Take Back Cobb EMC invites all EMC members to meet the endorsed candidates on Nov. 2 from 7-9 p.m. at a “Meet The Candidates Event” (location to be announced). Cobb EMC board candidates will discuss their positions on issues, why they are running, and answer audience questions. The endorsed candidates will be available for interviews and photographs. Cobb EMC members will also be in attendance at the event.

“We have a short window of time for candidates to answer members’ questions and earn their vote, so this event is a great opportunity,” said Campaign Coordinator Joel Mendelson. “We've got a solid slate of candidates ready to take over where our current board is failing. They stand for transparency, open democracy, and setting the financial record straight at Cobb EMC.”
