CPA Office Gains Zoning Approval

A new CPA office is opening in a recently rezoned Northeast Cobb residential property.

The Cobb County Zoning Board has approved the rezoning of two residential properties located at the northeast corner of Sandy Plains and Trickum roads in Northeast Cobb for commercial business use.

Asad Nezamabadi, owner of the property, submitted his rezoning request in May 2011 and, since it’s approval at the beginning of August, plans to begin reconditioning the existing buildings and grounds sometime next year.

“We will be updating the building that is already on the property and adding a new driveway and parking lot for about 18 cars,” said Nezamabadi.

Nezamabadi decided to request the rezoning due to the fact that his son recently earned his CPA degree and Nezamabadi himself has an MBA.

“It’s hard finding good renters. Whenever I would put up a “For Rent” sign I mostly got inquiries about using the property for business purposes. After awhile, I decided to turn it into an office for myself and my son," he said.

The Zoning Commission cited in its approval comments that the improvements to the property will have a positive impact on the surrounding area due to the proposed addition of professional landscaping, new lighting and upgraded appearance of the property.

Nezamabadi, a resident of Marietta for the past 30 years, has owned other businesses located in the Cobb County area, but is looking forward to working with his son in this newest venture.

Once the office is open, Nezamabadi may hire more staff, especially in the clerical field. His plans for the moment are to wait and see how the business will progress once it is operating.
