Construction of New Northeast Cobb Subdivision Gains Approval

Plans for Wigley Road subdivision are set to move forward.

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners have approved a re-zoning request for the construction of a new subdivision on Wigley Road in NE Cobb.

The 32—acre subdivision is considered a low-density development and, will consist of 48 lots with approximately 1.5 units per acre. Higher density developments, typically allow for 2.2 units per acre.

In the approval comments cited by the Board of Commissioners, the low-density design of the Wigley Road subdivision, falls within the similar zone R-15 single-family designs of the two adjoining subdivisions, Highland Pointe and Hampton Ridge.

According to John Moore, of Moore Ingram Johnson & Steele, LLP, and representative for Brooks Chadwick Capital, LLC, the plans for the subdivision also include two, five acre open space conservation easements.

“One five acre open space tract will be located on the southern boundary of the subdivision with the other tract located on the east side of the property just across the street on Wigley Road. Both these areas will be left in their natural state,” says Moore.

Moore went on to say, “Land clearing and construction should begin on the property within the next 30 to 60 days, with the development and building being complete within 18 months or so.”

The traditional style homes, will be a minimum of 2,500 square feet in size, with the cost per home ranging between $400,000 to $600,000 each.
