A Taste of New York Italian in Northeast Cobb

Joe and Tony Rosa take the simple premise of New York style Pizza and Italian dishes making it one of the best in our area.

Joe and Tony Rosa who own Rosa’s Pizza on Broad Street in downtown Atlanta now have a second wood-fueled restaurant in Northeast Cobb. Rosa’s Pizza has an immense brick oven that bakes the best pizza and Italian dishes. The family took the simple premise of New York style pizza and added Italian dishes including: pastas, heroes, calzones, salads and desserts to their menu.

The dining room is clean and organized with wood booths, tables and chairs. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly. There are fun events on certain days. Many regulars participate in the Monday night Trivia.

You order and pay at the front register. A server delivers the food to your table.

If you purchase a soft drink ($1.80), refills are unlimited. The choice of beverages include: soft drinks, wine by the glass, and beer.

I enjoyed the Baked Ziti ($7.50). This hearty dish is a creamy blend of common Italian flavors like tomato-based sauce, pasta and, of course, different types of cheese. The Baked Ziti is adorned with Ricotta, Mozzarella, Parmesan cheeses, and Marinara sauce; making it scrumptious. The dish is served with a side of crispy and not-too-oily Garlic bread. It has a pleasant garlic flavor that isn’t too overwhelming.

Pizza by the slice ($2.00 and $.45 per/topping) is great for a quick and easy lunch or you can order a whole pizza. Diners love the classic toppings such as pepperoni and sausage, but are also drawn to ingredients that make Rosa’s Pizza different: hot cherry peppers, eggplant, and feta and ricotta cheese.

Make sure to end any meal with a mini ($1.75) or large ($4.00) Cannoli. Rosa’s Cannoli consists of a crispy fried pastry shell, filled with Cannoli Cream (made from sweetened Ricotta cheese). The shell is normally made from flour, sugar, eggs, vinegar, salt, vanilla, and water.

Rosa’s Pizza attracts families, as well as college students.  The staff is friendly, courteous, hardworking, and very attentive.

Rosa’s Pizza is located at 3605 Sandy Plains Road. Restaurant Hours: Monday - Thursday, 11 a.m. – 9:30 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., Saturday  11 a.m. - 10 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. - 9 p.m.
