5 things to do this holiday weekend with patriotic kids!

1. It’s Xfinity Saturday at Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville. Go inside a firework lab to discover the secrets that turn paper, string, and gun powder into a spectacular show of lights with National Geographic Channel’s  “Naked Science: Secret World of Fireworks” showing all day in their theater. Tellus staff members will have Xploration Stations set up with WOW factor science demonstrations. Both FREE with admission. Open Saturday 10-5pm, Non-members: $12 adults, $8 for kids 3-12 …If you are Bank of America customer – this weekend is “Museum’s On Us” and you can get in FREE with your bank card and ID! 2. FREE Craft at Lakeshore Learning East Cobb! Stop by between 11am-3pm Saturday to make a “Patriotic Wreath” to decorate your door for your July 4th BBQ! (4287 Roswell Road, Marietta)

3. At The American Girl Store at Northpoint Mall, girls 8+ can decorate a flower pot during “Molly’s Victory Garden” craft. Stop by between 1pm-3pm on Sunday. FREE (1202 North Point Circle, Alpharetta)

4. Bring the kids to “Red, White, & YOU” at Chattahoochee Nature Center Monday from 10am-5pm. Kids will have a “blast” creating fun red, white and blue firework artwork in the Nature Exchange that you can take home. Earn 50 points for your Nature Exchange account by wearing red, white, & blue! All ages welcome to participate; FREE with admission. Non-members: $8 adults, $5 kids 3-12; Activity runs all day – open 10am-5pm.

5. Enjoy a parade! Marietta’s 4th of July Festivities begin with a parade at 10am Monday at Roswell St. Baptist Church and travels west on Roswell Street, north on E. Park Square past Glover Park and the Square, down Cherokee Street and ends at North Marietta Parkway. From Beauty Queens to the National Guard, your kids will love the patriotic pomp and circumstance!
