World's Smallest Working Dog Takes Big Title

Last week Guinness World Records named Lucy, who weighs 2.5 pounds, the world's smallest working dog. 

Lucy works as a therapy dog through the Leashes of Love program. , visiting hospitals and nursing homes and working with disabled children, Moorestown (NJ) Patch reports.

Leone Montufar met Lucy moments before the dog was to become homeless. The Yorkie's previous owner was taking Lucy to an animal shelter when she had a chance meeting with Montufar, who adopted the tiny dog immediately.
