3. It’s back. The school calendar issue simply will not go away. It has returned to the Board of Education’s agenda, thanks to Northeast Cobb board member David Banks. He proposes starting the 2011-12 school year Aug. 8, a week earlier than the current schedule and a week later than the balanced calendar the board dropped in February. You can check outand the blog to read your neighbor's comments and share yours.

4. How do you feel about the light rail transit system? Wednesday we reported on the tri-county transportation summit held at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Residents have opposing opinions about the project. The transit system could help develop the economy. It could also bring more crime to the area, some say. If it could lessen the vehicle accidents on our highways, that would be helpful!

5. Would you like a little entertainment to go with your coffee? Tony Earl Ledford performs at Caribou Coffee located at 1275 Johnson Ferry Road tonight  7 p.m. - 9 p.m. His music is described as upbeat Christian with country tunes that intrigue any listener.
