5. Lassiter brought an unofficial end Monday to what figured to be an intense college recruiting battle. The junior announced he will attend Southern Methodist University in 2013, as reported first by Rivals.com recruiting analyst Keith Niebuhr on Twitter and by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Marietta Daily Journal. Printz was expected to draw scholarship offers from some of the top programs in college football, including the SEC, so his early commitment to a school in Conference USA came as a surprise. Nothing is official until he signs a letter of intent, which can’t happen until February 2013.
