Tennis Drill Classes

Join us around the water cooler to discuss hot topics and what's happening in Northeast Cobb today, April 11.

1. Are you a tennis player who wants to see improvement in your game? You can enroll in one of the specialty drills classes offered by USPTA professional, Randy Hancock at the Harrison Tennis Center.

These drill groups are offered in six-week sessions and are $90 per session. On Monday nights from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., classes are held for Advanced Drill, designed for the 3.5-4.5 players. On Wednesday mornings from 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m., classes are held for Ladies’ Singles Drill, designed for the 3.0-3.5 player. Friday mornings is the Ladies’ Advanced Doubles drills for the 3.5-4.5 level player. The technical aspect is emphasized in these drills with time to play in each session. Monday morning from 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., Randy offers an Open Doubles Drill session. The cost is $15 per visit, or $50 for any four visits. This is open to ladies of any level. Harrison Tennis Center is located at 2653 Shallowford Road.

2.David Douglas Diamonds & Jewelry moved into their store a year ago. To celebrate the anniversary, they will give you seven days worth of gifts. It's their way of saying "Thanks." From today until April 16 they will be giving a different gift away each day. Today is half-off the price for Chain Soldering. The store is open Monday through Friday 10am- 6pm and Saturdays 10am-4pm. Closed Sunday. 3. Are you a member of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce? The Cobb Chamber of Commerce is holding the First Monday Breakfast at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest, 200 Interstate North Parkway, Atlanta. U.S. Congressman Tom Price will address the GOAL program. Breakfast begins at 7:30am, generally admission is $50. Members may purchase online discounted tickets for $20 by noon on April 7. 4. Make your Monday end on a fun note by stopping by Red Sky Tapas and Bar to hear Juliana Finch who critics say “sounds the way a good bourbon tastes.”  She's a Georgia-based singer and songwriter with strong Americana roots. Juliana earns her spot in a long tradition of storytelling songwriters with a sultry, soothing voice and carefully crafted lyrics. 7:30 p.m. Red Sky Tapas & Bar, 1255 Johnson Ferry Road, Suite 16.

5. Struggles . . . we all have them. And we can think "bitter" or "better" as those challenges confront us. Join North Metro Church as Guest Speaker Karen A. Finley shares more about how God can use challenges to show us what we're made of and how He supplies all of our needs according to His riches in glory. is an expert in conflict resolution and handling adversity. Finley is a retired business executive, having served as a District Manager for Norrell and as a management consultant and trainer for Bell South. She currently serves in leadership roles in her church's women's mentoring program and with Crown Financial Ministries and Cross Roads Ministries.
