Teen Memorial for Josh Wittes

Family and friends gathered at Temple Kol Emeth Saturday night to remember the Lassiter sophomore.

Rabbi Steven Lebow conducted a teen memorial service, sponsored by the Temple Kol Emeth youth group, for sophomore Josh Wittes, 16, who after several days in a coma.

A native of Marietta, Josh Wittes is survived by his parents, Rob and Kelly Wittes; brother Zack; his twin, David; and his grandparents, Grace Garrison and Hermine and Jerry Wittes.

Josh's friends spoke during the memorial service Saturday at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary at Temple Kol Emeth. The sanctuary was crowded with family, friends and classmates, who remembered Josh through spoken memories, poetry and music.

The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite pediatric unit, LifeLink for organ donation or The Link Counseling Center for suicide prevention.
